Benefits Of Using A Wireless Headset In Your Office Work

Most of you probably don't remember, but there was a time when you would answer the phone and you would be rolled up in the telephone cord, or someone would make your trip over the phone chord. Today most of us don not have this problem, thanks to new technology and one of those inventions by new technology is the wireless headset. People are now using a wireless headset, especially when they learned that it just makes life easier and that it is much more comfortable in their office or work environment. Getting rid of the chord lets you move freely. Stand up, walk, pace, anything that lets you concentrate a bit better. And the roaming range in these wireless headsets is continually getting better.

You will find that many customer service oriented businesses have started to use them for their customer service employees who are always on the phone. The wireless headset allows them the freedom to move their hands, and look at their computer screen at the same time they are paying attention to the customer. While all of this is very beneficial to both the corporation, and the employee, there are also added benefits to the wireless headset.

Did you know that wireless headsets reduce muscle tension by more than 40%. That means that by not having a receiver to hold, employees relax a bit in their environment and do a better job of solving the customers needs.

When there is no telephone chord, a person has more movement. This means they can move their neck, shoulders, and head, thereby getting rid of some of the tension they feel. Not only that but people who use wireless headsets release the strain in their hands that they feel from holding the handset for a long period of time. You are then able to do other things while on the telephone, like type information into the computer, or read a contract, or look at pertinent information to the phone call you are taking.

Choosing the Proper Wireless Headset

Do you often have to move around the house when talking on the phone? Then a wireless headset is a must-have gadget for you. Not only will it allow plenty of additional freedom of movement, but will also keep your hands free when chatting up a storm with your buddy. However, when you go about buying a wireless headset, make sure you are comfortable using it for long intervals. You may not be purchasing a 911 headset, but what you do buy should feel comfortable, especially during those long discussions over a foiled recipe, or the way one player's stupidity made the local team lose a match.

When you are buying a wireless headset (even if it's not a 911 headset), look out for the following points:

1. Get the perfect fit: You don't want your wireless headset to be too tight, or few things will be more uncomfortable. However, make sure you have a snug fit, so that it stays on if you suddenly stoop over during a conversation. You may have to try out multiple headsets till you find the one that's just right for you. That's alright, but walking out of the store with an ear hugger that threatens to cut off blood circulation to your brain after staying on for a few minutes isn't.

2. Check out the features: Does the headset have a button to receive calls, and one for controlling sound volume? These are the bare minimum features that a headset must have. After that, check for additional useful features, like support for Bluetooth, rechargeable battery pack, and the ability to maintain signal strength for extended distances.

3. Check for affordability: You may have found a headset that is the perfect fit for your head, and makes you drool with its list of powerful features. That's great, but can you afford it? Make sure you don't have to break the bank in order to talk comfortably on your phone.

4. Size does matter, so check it out: How much space do you have on your desk for the wireless headset? Remember, you will certainly not keep it on round the clock, and as such, having a place to keep it will be necessary. Besides, if a headset is making your head feel heavy by its sheer bulk, you may be better off buying a lightweight headset instead.

Check out some good websites before you make a purchase. You may come across some unbelievable deals. For starters, check out the website of Able Zebra Communications. Their huge list of headsets will make you drool, and their highly affordable prices will surprise you on more than one occasion.
